Weekly Newsletter Nov. 14 '25 - From Corporate Girly to Small Business Owner

Hi there, designer đź‘‹

12 incredible years in the design world going into my 13th year in less than 2 months! As I look back, I can’t help but feel grateful for every twist, turn, and lesson that got me here.

Design has always been more than a job to me - it’s who I am. From the days of rearranging my childhood furniture to finally getting accepted into FIT after my first rejection, every step taught me resilience, creativity, and the beauty of never giving up on your dreams.

After years in the corporate design world - the late nights, the pressure, the endless deadlines - I realized I wanted more freedom, more meaning, and more connection. That’s when I built Anastasia Mitrovic Interiors LLC… and eventually, Interior Design Den.

Interior Design Den was born out of one simple idea: to help other designers feel supported and confident using the same tools that changed my own career. I wanted to create the kind of mentorship I wished I had - one that combines skill-building, storytelling, and community.

So if you’re here reading this, I want to say a huge thank you. Whether you’re a new designer eager to master SketchUp, Enscape, and AutoCAD - or a seasoned pro looking to streamline your workflow - you’re in the right place.

This newsletter is where I’ll share behind-the-scenes stories, design insights, practical tips, and honest reflections about growing as a designer and as a human being. Think of it as our creative corner - where we learn, laugh, and flourish together.

Here’s to designing with passion, courage, and heart. From one designer to another  welcome to the next chapter of your journey đź’š

With love & care,
Ana

Weekly Newsletter Mar. 20 '26 - Why I Sometimes Tell Designers Not to Buy My Course
Hi there, designer 👋 I received a few emails recently from designers asking about my AutoCAD course. I always appreciate when designers reach out with questions - it means you're actively trying to grow your skills. But when I asked a few follow-up questions, I realized they were working on Mac computers, and my course is designed for PC users. So I told them something that might sound a little...
Weekly Newsletter Mar. 13 '26 - One Corridor. Three Hours. $3,000
Hi there, designer 👋 Last week we talked about outsourcing and why building your own technical skills early in your business can make a huge difference. This week I want to share a quick real-life example from my studio. A contractor I’ve worked with for years called me recently and said: "Ana, we have this long corridor in one of our projects and honestly… it's just ugly. The clients don’t kno...
Weekly Newsletter Mar. 06 '26 - When to Outsource VS. When to Build Skill First
Hi there, designer 👋 Let’s talk about something that comes up often in conversations with other designers - outsourcing. Now before we start — I’m not against outsourcing at all. In fact, as your business grows and your projects become larger, bringing in help can be a really smart move. But there’s something important I’ve learned over the years running my own design studio. If you outsource T...
